On September 14th, 2022, at approximately 4:44 pm, a police officer on patrol was flagged down and advised a tractor trailer turning right from, West Simpson Street onto South Market Street, struck the traffic light pole at the intersection. The officer observed a tractor trailer ahead and conducted a traffic stop. It was determined this was the tractor trailer which struck the pole due to the rear trailer tires being shredded. There was minor damage to the traffic light pole from the trailer striking it. The driver of the tractor trailer had summary charges filed against them.
