On December 30th, 2022, at approximately 3:53 pm, the police department was dispatched to the 100 block of South Walnut Street for a crash which just occurred. Upon arrival officers determined there were four vehicles involved. Investigation into the crash found Decker was operating his vehicle northbound on South Walnut Street. Decker was not able to stop his vehicle in time and struck the vehicle in front of his, which was stopped in traffic. This vehicle was pushed into the vehicle in front of them and that vehicle was pushed into the vehicle in front of theirs. The operators of the other vehicles were, Akoyan, Gossard, and Kaspar. Akoyan was transported to the hospital for further evaluation of injuries he sustained in the crash. Akoyan’s vehicle required towing from the scene due to the damage it sustained. The police department was assisted on scene by Penn State Health EMS and the Mechanicsburg Fire Department.
