On May 27th, 2023, at approximately 1:24 pm, the police department was dispatched to a crash which just occurred in the 400 block of North York Street. Upon arrival officers determined there were two vehicles involved. Investigation into the crash found Mellott was operating her vehicle north on North York Street. Hoffmaster was stopped for the red light on North York Street and was struck from behind by Mellott’s vehicle. Both drivers were evaluated by EMS on scene, but were not transported. Mellott’s vehicle required towing from the scene due to the damage it sustained in the crash. The police department was assisted on scene by Silver Spring Township EMS.
