On August 18th, 2021, at approximately 6:50 pm, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of South Market and Simpson Streets for a crash which just occurred. Upon arrival officers determined two vehicles were involved. Investigation into the crash revealed Horning was operating his vehicle southbound on South Market Street. Horning advised he was attempting to turn left to travel eastbound on East Simpson Street. A vehicle being operated by Liller was travelling northbound on South Market Street. Liller advised she was attempting to travel north on South Market Street. They both stopped for the traffic light at the intersection, which was on flash at the time. Horning advised he flashed his lights to have Liller “go.” There was a delay, so Horning began into the intersection while watching for eastbound traffic. While making his turn Horning’s vehicle struck Liller’s vehicle. The police department was assisted on scene by the Mechanicsburg Fire Department and Penn State Health EMS.
