Beards to Grow Again

The Mechanicsburg Police Department and several other Cumberland County agencies, Cumberland County Sheriff’s, Lower Allen Township and Silver Spring Township Police Departments, will be starting to grow beards for the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness month. The officers, deputies and other employees will make a donation in order to forgo the policy against beards, to show their support for breast cancer awareness. All donations collected will be donated to Pink Hands of Hope, located in Mechanicsburg, PA, Hampden Township. The Mechanicsburg Police Department is asking anyone wishing to make a donation send checks by mail made out to the department. In the memo line write “Pink Hands of Hope.” Please do not send cash by mail. Donations can also be dropped off at the police department during the time the office is open to the public. Any questions please contact the police department. Due to the COVID pandemic, Pink Hands of Hope is in need of help due to most of their fundraising events not occurring this year. It is our great honor to team up with them to support those battling cancer.
