On August 30th, 2023, at approximately 4:29 pm, the Silver Spring Township Police Department was dispatched to a crash near West Trindle Road and Locust Point Road where a witness reported a vehicle had struck a parked vehicle and did not stop. SSTWP determined the crash occurred in the 300 block of West Main Street in Mechanicsburg Borough, and contacted Mechanicsburg Police. Contact was attempted with the owner of the striking vehicle, Reiner, without success. On September 1st, Reiner contacted the Police Department to report the crash. Reiner admitted to striking the parked vehicle and failing to stop due to her inspection and emissions being expired.
