On February 19th, 2021, at approximately 5:20 pm, the victim contacted the police department regarding their vehicle being struck in the parking lot of a business located in the 600 block of East Simpson Street. The victim advised they parked in the parking lot and went inside the business to pick up their order. They returned to their vehicle and found a large dent in the driver’s side front door. A witness advised they saw the vehicle get struck by a vehicle exiting a parking space next to the victim’s vehicle. The witness advised the vehicle appeared to be an older green Subaru Outback. The vehicle was last seen travelling eastbound on East Simpson Street. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the police department.
UPDATE — The driver of the striking vehicle and the vehicle were both located. Charges are pending against the driver for leaving the scene of a crash. Thank you to the witness who assisted greatly with being able to eventually find the driver.
