On November 10th, 2020, at approximately 1:49 pm, a victim contacted the police department advising their identity was used to open a “Sprint” account which was not authorized by them. The resident resides in the 600 block of South York Street and reported they found the account during a recent credit check. The account was opened using their name and social security number, but the address and email used did not belong to them. The account was several months old and was sent to collections. The victim is not out any money. This is a reminder to keep an eye on credit accounts and use the free credit checks which are allotted to consumers each year.
