Police Department Raising Money – Not Shaving Faces

The Mechanicsburg Police Department and several other Cumberland County agencies, will be starting to grow beards for the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness month. The officers, deputies and other employees will make a donation in order to forgo the policy against beards, to show their support for breast cancer awareness. The department will continue the growth of the beards for the month of November as well, for No Shave November. All donations collected for both months will be donated this year to Vickie’s Angel Foundation, located in New Cumberland, PA, New Cumberland Borough. The Mechanicsburg Police Department is asking anyone wishing to make a donation to send checks by mail, made out to the department. In the memo line write “Vickie’s Angel Foundation.” Please do not send cash by mail. Donations can also be dropped off at the police department during the time the office is open to the public. Any questions please contact the police department. It is our great honor to team up with this foundation to support those battling cancer. In addition the department will be selling pink patches with the proceeds also going to Vickie’s Angel Foundation. Those wishing to get a patch can send in or drop off the form below.
