On January 17th, 2022, at approximately 8:35 am, the police department was dispatched to the intersection of West Portland Street and North York Street for a crash which just occurred. Upon arrival officers determined there were two vehicles involved. Investigation into the crash found Smith was operating his vehicle northbound on North York Street. Smith had a red light for his direction of travel, but slid on the roadway while attempting to bring his vehicle to a stop. Fegley was operating a tractor with snow plow on West Portland Street, westbound. Fegley entered into the intersection after getting the green light and was struck by Smith’s vehicle. Fegley had to be extricated from the tractor due to the door not opening after the crash. Fegley suffered an injury and was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. The police department was assisted on scene by the Mechanicsburg Fire Department and Penn State Health EMS.
