On March 21st, 2023, at approximately 2:20 pm, the police department was dispatched to a crash which just occurred at the intersection of North Walnut and East Allen Streets. Upon arrival officers determined there were two vehicles involved. Investigation into the crash found Lucas was stopped at the stop sign on East Allen Street facing west. Lucas was intending to turn left onto North Walnut Street. Upon pulling from the stop sign Lucas’ vehicle was struck by a vehicle being operated by Petrio. Petrio was driving north on North Walnut Street and did not have a stop sign. Both vehicles required towing from the scene due to the damage they sustained in the crash. Petrio was transported to the hospital for further treatment of her injuries. The police department was assisted on scene by Penn State Health EMS.
