On October 19th, 2023, at approximately 12:41 pm, the police department was dispatched to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of East Main Street and Walnut Street. Investigation determined Burd turned onto North Walnut Street from East Main Street while operating a landscaping truck. Acker turned to follow Burd, who had stopped in the travel lane due to stopped traffic ahead of him. Acker failed to respond to the changing traffic conditions and struck the rear of the landscaping truck. Acker and her passenger were transported to the hospital for evaluation. Acker’s vehicle was towed from the scene as a result of the damage sustained from the crash.
