On March 8th, 2021, at approximately 1:39 pm, the police department was dispatched to a crash which just occurred at the intersection of West Main Street and South York Street. Upon arrival officers determined there were two vehicles involved. Investigation into the crash found Witt was operating his vehicle northbound in the first block of South York Street. He was attempting to continue north on North York Street. Upon entering into the intersection he struck a vehicle travelling westbound on West Main Street. It was found Witt entered the intersection while facing a steady red light. Witt was injured and evaluated by EMS on scene, but was not transported. The police department was assisted by Penn State Health EMS and the Mechanicsburg Fire Department.
